Developing my next online business model. Here at Felonypixel, we are always experimenting with domain names for niche websites. We are usually working on about ten to fifteen websites at any given time. Developing revenue streams and weeding out the low performing projects.

Sometimes it can be overwhelming but it is the best way to test online business plans. As idea’s come to my head throughout the day, I purchase domain names because I would kick myself if someone else grabbed it and did the same concept.

It happened once and I learned a hard lesson. I had a concept idea for a travel site and six months worth of notes and ideas. When I checked the domain name it was available but I put it off because I thought I would purchase it later.

Less than a month later, I went to buy that domain name and someone else had already purchased it. Six months later they turned that web address and sold it to company for $3 Million, a very hard lesson learned.

Well I haven’t given up on the travel site because it is a passion. At the same time, I am not ready to start working on the project yet but the first thing I did for developing my online business was to purchase the name. I will probably work on it over the winter to get it ready for next spring.

Why travel?

I have been watching closely and feel that Google is about ready to move into this market and I want to be ready if there is cash to be made with online travel advertising.
