Just a Simple Business Model

I was surfing the online newspapers and came across one of the most remarkable business models and it was classified under Odd News. The article features Jason Sadler of I Wear Your Shirt.

The model is simple; pay him to wear your company T-Shirt for the day in New York and promote your company via social media. The price?

Depends on the calendar day, January 1st will cost your marketing budget one dollar. For New Years Eve day, it will cost is $365.

For each day that you buy, Sadler will be walking around and taking photos with your shirt on. He will post his whereabouts on Twitter and Facebook and include a YouTube video.

He reportedly made $83,000 last year and I just checked out his website, it is already booked up to August 1st, 2010. His fees have doubled to $2 bucks a day and he is adding a West Coast version.

At a minimum, he will be able to generate $267,180 dollars with double exposure and the minimum price increase. This past year he provided some up-sells that generated an extra $18,000 in revenue.

I am blogging on this because of its remarkably simple business model. I am NOT getting paid to endorse this site; I am just so impressed with his ability to take one little idea and blow it up big!

No telling how long this company will last, but he has more than proven that he can create a kick-ass campaign.

This resonates back to the Million Dollar Page, which a student earned over one million dollars for college by just selling little pixel dots.

It is things like this that make the Internet a great playing field. Just from reading this short article in the LA Times, it has helped me brainstorm my own keep it simple ideas. Good luck and I hope this will give you some inspiration too.
