Each day I hit the hiking trails for about a 30 minute run around lunch. Helps break up the day and clear the thoughts. Today as I was headed back home I saw a landscaping service working diligently on a lawn next to my residence. There were three guys that was knocking out the yard work in about 10 minutes.

You do the math, if the homeowner had done it himself, probably would have taken 30 to 35 minutes. So hear is my question. Why pay to have someone mow your yard and edge along the sidewalk? Is it because of limited time? Health issues? Or you just don’t want to do it yourself?

I just didn’t get it.

I was always taught to take pride in your residence and do it yourself. You will pay better attention and appreciate it more.

Then, I started thinking about what I do, search engine optimization (SEO)? Same principles apply I guess. I get paid to do search optimization for individuals and businesses. I guess I am just doing something that you feel that you do not have the time for.

How much time does it take after a couple of trial and errors. Tweak this, change that term. After awhile you could be doing it on your own in ten minutes.

If you don’t use more than a six-pack of keyword terms, try doing your own optimization. I am not trying to say that I do not want the work, but you might just find out that you enjoy it and it’s not that difficult.

I guess I know now why there are so many landscape services around town.
