Don’t Hurt Your Back Lifting
Using social media to market your website and products can be a daunting task. Every day there are news releases and marketing agency’s that you say you should be here, there and everywhere online.
If you are just a small business owner trying to run your own online marketing campaign, don’t try to do all in one day.
The best way is to start with one social network and focus on it for a week or two until it becomes second nature, such as checking your business email.
The BIG THREE in the communication (marketing) business is:
The first step after choosing a platform is to be active and provide quality information. No one wants your cheesy press releases, they want to talk and build relationships. As you can fans, followers and contacts, leverage your knowledge to network with others.
Secondly, expand your messaging but keep the branding the same. Use the same logo or profile picture for each network. You want people to know who and what you do buy looking at the page in an instant.
Third, the social network is a two-way exchange. As you build relationships and joint ventures, always be willing to help others even if you don’t have the time. You will find that word-of-mouth about your character will far exceed your selling points.
